Project BOB

Your child may have told you recently that our school is now a part of 'Project BOB'. Project BOB are a team who visit school once a fortnight to work with classes on a rota basis in KS2.

This time it was the turn of E5/6.

The children get to practice their cycling skills.

Gardening Club Update

At Gardening Club we have been making seed packets and filling them with recycled seeds.  We have pumpkin seeds, sweet peas, lupins and runner beans.  We will grow the seeds in the spring and we hope to be able to sell some of the plants to parents, but if you are interested in buying some of our seed packets for a small donation to our school garden, then pop along to Mrs Partridge’s room one day after school.

Fauvism in E5/6

'Fauvism' was an art movement in the early 1900's.

They used exaggerated vibrant colours, broad brush strokes and thick paint.

We studied the fauvism landscapes of Andre Derain, Kandinsky and Matisse.

Jack and the Beanstalk Pantomime visit

Jack, Jill and the Beanstalk

Yesterday we were lucky enough to have a travelling pantomime come and present two showings of Jack and the Beanstalk to Nursery/KS1 and KS2.

We had a lovely time joining in with the songs and following the varied storyline as Jack climbed the beanstalk and entered Nursery Rhyme land looking for the Golden Goose.

Everyone had a lovely time and all the children would like to thank the PTA for arranging this New Years treat for us all.

Pupils visit to Martham public Library

B3/4 Library Visit

We were greeted by Peter from Norfolk Library Service, who introduced the children to the library and told them a story.

The layout of the library and the way the books are sorted on the shelves was explained to the children and they were set a quiz. Which we all enjoyed doing!

All the children who weren’t already members of the library were given the opportunity to join and take out a book. The library enrolled nine new members!

The library allows the children to borrow up to 15 books at any one time. They could be story books, picture books, football books, comics, magazines and use the internet for free!

Our topic this term is about the Vikings, so B3 / 4 children could get some books out to help them with research.

It was a great opportunity for all of us to learn about our local library and we are booked in again later this term.
